Date: 2009-04-03

SiTech Inflator Hoses
SiTech low pressure inflator hose and inserts

Manufacturer SiTech of Lysekil, Sweden has announced a recall of defective low pressure inflator hoses.  The hose contains a flow restricting insert (black, blue or green) that may become dislodged from the hose, enter the regulator 1st stage therefore restricting the airflow to the second stage, which poses a drowning hazard to the user.

According to SiTech, it has received reports of the hoses malfunctioning.

The recall affects SiTech inflator hoses manufactured between August 2006 and February 2009.

Owners of defective SiTech inflator hoses affected by the recall should stop using the defective equipment IMMEDIATELY and contact dry suit manufacturers and/or scuba equipment retailers to have the plastic restrictors removed.
