DIVE ANTARCTICA DIVE TRAVEL GUIDEAntarctica - Cyber Diver TOP 10 Dive Destination >> ou will never see Antarctica rated on a reader poll or in the ad-driven scuba rags. There are no dive operators, no airports, no chain hotel resorts, no banks, no strip malls, no T-shirt shops, no restaurants, no franchise bars, no advertising billboards. It is a natural realm so desolate, so merciless, so daunting, only the strongest and most extraordinary species survive.
Most of Antarctica's wildlife lives beneath the ice in the relative warmth and comfort of the sea where the water never falls below a toasty -1.8 degrees C. With visibility that can reach 200 meters, there is no visual awareness of being in water, rather divers feel as if they are floating through space under a canopy of neon blue ice. Diving in Antarctica is not for everyone, but for those of us who prefer to avoid the resort crowd, there is simply nothing that compares to a diving expedition to the last unspoiled continent. | Click image to enlarge map | Facts about Antarctica- Area: 14.25 million sq km
